Mindful Crafts: Tibetan Prayer Flags

Prayer flags have been used for centuries to invite the four winds to deliver the prayers of the people while blessing the land. Participants will create their own prayer flags by drawing, painting or writing on colorful squares of fabric. The flags will be strung together and hung on Centennial Barn's grounds.

This craft is a perfect activity for families and groups of friends. Children age 6 and older are welcome if accompanied by an adult. All faiths and spiritual backgrounds are welcome.

Soul Collage® with Mar Feder, LPCC

In this class you will create a small collage card from pictures that draw your eye and heart, that speak to you, that help your visual journal. Guided imagery and meditation are used to encourage connection with your true self. No artistic talent is required. Each month's class is based on a different theme. The theme for July is Exploring Our Places of Safety through Soul Collage.

Memories in the Making® Summer Program



Memories in the Making® is a program for persons with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia that encourages self-expression through visual arts. This is a free program for people living in their homes.

Time for Caregivers is a program for care providers that runs at the same time as the Memories Program. This time together provides relief from the stresses of care giving responsibilities with a focus on wellness.  A licensed social worker facilitates this program.

Dates:  Fridays, June 6,20,27; July 11, 18, 25; August 1,8
No class on June 13.

Using a new theme each week, you will be inspired to capture your memories through discussion, questions and exercises. Homework is to draft a short story on the theme of the week. At the following class, writers share, discuss and encourage each other to move forward on their own memoirs.
